EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: Cory Marks Chats Backstage @ C2C Festival 2025

Having recently released his latest album ‘Sorry For Nothing’, Canadian country/rock artist Cory Marks made his triumphant UK debut with multiple sets at C2C Festival 2025 held at the O2 Arena in London. During the weekend, Music and Tour News were lucky enough to catch up with Cory backstage.

It’s been amazing so far. It’s been really good the crowds and the fans here are incredible and seeing them and hearing them sing along to the songs word for word and packing these rooms wall to wall has been incredible.

I said this in another interview recently, they know my songs which is really great.

It’s been great. There’s a lot of songs on the album that we’ve been playing here in Europe that the fans are singing along to so that’s always a good feeling a good sign.

There’s a few, there really is a few and one way or another they’re connecting with most of them if not all of them. Obviously ‘Outlaws & Outsiders’, ‘Make My Country Rock’ has been a lot of fun, they love that one too and of course ‘Devil’s Grin’.

Yeah, I’d love to. That’s the plan, we headlined three shows in Germany and one in Rotterdam and right after this we head over to Glasgow for a sold-out show which I’m grateful for, so hopefully that creates a buzz and we can get our butts back over here sooner than later.

Yeah, I get home for two weeks and then we go back out on the road for three and a half weeks [and I hope the reaction] is just as good or better than it has been here cos this is really hard to beat. It’s buzzing it’s a country festival and everyone’s having a great time.

Well, we’re gonna be releasing more new music soon and now that the festival and touring season seems to be piling on probably just spending as much time with friends and family back home and my dog of course and try to get up and fly as much as I can which is my take away from the real world for a little bit. You know when I’m flying the thing I’m pretty focused on keeping the thing in the air and for the first time in my life I feel like I need to learn to relax a little bit.

I’ve always been a fan of aviation since I was a kid. I grew up in a military town and they had a flight base. We had one of the biggest air shows in North America and my mom and dad lived down the road so there were always jets and planes flying over and I just always loved it. Especially when I saw the Canadian Sbowbirds for the first time and I know here it’s the Red Arrows which I actually got to spend some time with last year at the Toronto air show, it was really cool. The photographer also knew who I was and knew my songs which I thought was really cool and then I found out I was coming over the play the UK the following year. They’re a huge inspiration to me.

I would just say thank you so much for loving me and the music and what we’re doing and for all the support over the years/ It’s finally so great to be over here and I hope to keep on coming over here and the crowds and venues just keep on getting bigger. I would love to tour the UK and wider Europe as much as I can cos the people and the fans and everything are amazing and I’m incredibly grateful for that and if they want to follow me wherever they on socials it’s corymarksmusic and corymarks.com for any tour dates, merch, music and all Cory Marks info.
