Shania Twain Returns to the Recording Studio
Following her huge comeback back in 2017 after a 15-year absence from releasing new music, Shania Twain returned with her global smash hit number 1 record ‘Now’ which is her fifth studio album. The impressive LP was written solely by Twain following her painful divorce from Mutt Lange and features heartfelt insights into how she recovered from the deceit and lies.
The emotive release showcased to the world that Twain was back and just as incredible as ever. The CD was her first full-length project since the 2002 Diamond selling ‘Up!’ which is the LP that gained her a whole host of new fans over the years and played a pivotal role in her growing Millennial fanbase becoming country fans.
Now three years later and a worldwide tour, and Las Vegas Residency behind her, Shania Twain has returned to the recording studio to officially begin work on her sixth album. The new project has been in the works since ‘Now’ came into the world but what with touring and playing live almost every night in Vegas these past few years have been a busy period so new music has been put on the back burner.
However, due to the ongoing Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the Canadian has been forced to postpone her remaining Las Vegas concerts and is instead quarantining at her Switzerland home with son Eja, and husband Frédéric Thiébaud. The isolation has been incredible for Twain’s creativity and during the past few months, she has begun writing new songs.
Taking to social media this past week, Twain confirmed to her legion of fans that she has now returned to the recording studio and is beginning to officially put together her forthcoming and much anticipated new release. The new tracks are inspired by the current global situation so they promise to be insightful, emotive, and hopeful takes on what is currently happening in the world.
Speaking about the upcoming CD, Shania teased: “I’m feeling inspired by some of the changes we are starting to see in the world. I have been locked away in the studio with some amazingly talented people and I’m really excited about what we’re creating together! That’s all you get to know for now”.
