Dolly Parton Releases New Single ‘When Life Is Good Again’

The world is currently changing in front our very eyes with the “new normal” meaning a six-foot distance from those around us and everyday luxuries we often took for granted now being out of reach for the time being as government officials around the world authorize lockdowns and isolation periods in order to slow the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) disease.

But while many of our favorite past-times such as live concerts have been put on hold, artists across the globe are continuing to lift our spirits with live stream shows and new music being shared every day and one of those performers who is offering a little light relief during these dark days is the Queen of Country Dolly Parton.

The legendary singer/songwriter shared a brand new single this past week titled ‘When Life Is Good Again’ and it is inspired by the Coronavirus pandemic and the challenges people around the world are facing due to the lockdown and stay-at-home measures currently in place.

The lyrics see Parton promising to be more thoughtful and to live in the moment more often when “life is good again” and the world starts to re-open, it also offers hope that although the world will be forever changed by this virus we will one day be alright again and life will be good.

The track was written by Dolly Parton whilst in quarantine and is steeped in faith and uplifting messages of hope and love. The track has been released exclusively through Entertainment Weekly and is lyrically poignant and moving in equal measure. “God’s the reason for all things / You want rainbows, you get rain / We’ll all be forever changed / I’ll sail my boat and fly my kite / Walk in the park, go out at night / And hold my loved ones extra tight / When everything is on the mend / I’ll even drink with my old friends / Sing and play my mandolin / We’ll make it through this long dark night / Darkness fades when faced with light / And everything’s gonna be alright / When life is good again,”
