EXCLUSIVE: Jesse Lopez Talks New Single ‘Way Past Words’

On Friday, August 28th fast-rising Nashville based country-rock singer/songwriter Jesse Lopez will release his brand new and eagerly awaited new single titled ‘Way Past Words’ with the track set to invite a whole host of new listeners to discover his brilliant sonic sound.

Here we speak exclusively to Jesse Lopez to find out more about his forthcoming offering:

How excited are you to be sharing your new music on August 28th?
I couldn’t be more thrilled. I have a great team behind me this year and I can’t wait to see what we can make happen in full motion.

Can you talk us through the lyrical inspiration behind this offering?
It was written about my girlfriend, Kirstie Kraus. Sometimes when we lock in I feel like I couldn’t say enough words to capture that feeling.

Who did you work with to create this project?
Ryland Fisher and I wrote the song, Dr. Ford produced it, and Pete Lyman mastered it. Justin Hammond on the artwork and photoshoot!

How would you describe the overall sonic production of the track?
It really is next level for me. It’s so crazy getting into the room with big players and just feeling out a competitive sound. So great to work with Dr. Ford. He really understood my eclectic taste in music.

What are you hoping listeners take away from this song?
I hope they can relate to it in a way that makes them share it together… just that one song that tells someone, “This is exactly how I’m feeling right now”.

How does it feel to be sharing new music during this period in history?
Honestly, it feels like a blessing to be releasing music. So many things could have stopped me during this process, but I had Kirstie, working next to me and keeping me accountable.

Have you come up with any new ways to promote whilst being unable to perform live?
Of course!!! We ended up diving into the cross-branding aspect of 2020. We are now even hosting an online music festival once a month called Stream Fest with Freebird.

Do you plan on sharing an official music video for this record?
I do!!! Keep an eye out for the Official Video 5 to 6 weeks after the release.

Can we expect this single to spearhead a full-length album campaign?
You Can!!! I’m releasing it song by song to be compiled on an album later.

What else do you have in the pipeline for 2020?
A lot more live streams! I do plan on releasing at least one more single this year as well.
