Laura Oakes Releases New Single ‘How Big Is Your World -Acoustic’
Back in March of this year British country music talent Laura Oakes released her brilliant EP ‘How Big Is Your World’, and during the enforced UK lockdown Laura spent much of her time reimagining the tracklist in an acoustic setting and today (Friday, September 11th) she shares the gorgeous stripped back version of the title track.
The full acoustic ‘How Big Is Your World’ EP will be released in February of next year and this new reimagining of the single gives listeners a delightful first-taste of what they can expect from the forthcoming project which gives Oakes a platform to showcase her soaring vocal tone.
Taking the songs back to their country core allows for Laura Oakes to really dig deep and deliver gorgeous versions that feature beautiful instruments such as the mandolin, dobro, and guitar which gives the record a fuller rootsier sound shining a light on the incredible lyrical stories of the songs.
Speaking about the upcoming acoustic EP, Laura Oakes says: “It’s so crazy that the How Big Is Your World EP was released in the same week we all had to make sure our worlds were as small as they possibly could be. However, lockdown presented an amazing opportunity to really think about the songs differently and put this new project together. I wanted to strip back these new versions to really put the focus on the songwriting and I hope listeners might hear things they didn’t hear the first time or that the songs might evoke a different atmosphere, mood, or meaning”.
Her latest single certainly evokes a different vibe to the original with the acoustic rendition of ‘How Big Is Your World’ truly bringing the song’s message to the forefront whilst allowing Oakes the opportunity to truly let her vocal shine without the full-on production overlay that features on the original.
