Tommy Atkins Announces Debut EP ‘Kiss Me, Cowboy’

Award-winning country music performer Tommy Atkins has formally announced details of his forthcoming and eagerly awaited debut EP ‘Kiss Me, Cowboy’ which drops on Friday, September 24th, and promises to be one of the most exciting and eclectic projects of the year so far.

The EP comes on the back of major chart success for Atkins who has had three number 1 hits across the UK, New Zealand, and Canada proving that he is one of most sought after voices within the ever-growing country scene and with this body of work he is looking to break down barriers for the LGBTQ+ community.

The songs featured on the tracklist were created in Nashville renowned producer Dr Ford and feature 2020 GRAMMY winner, Michael Cleveland, on the fiddle; legendary steel and dobro player, Smith Curry (Dolly Parton, Taylor Swift), and Chris Condon on guitars (Billy Ray Cyrus) and Anna Pearson on harmonies. The EP was then mastered by GRAMMY-nominated engineer, Pete Lyman, for Infrasonic Sound (Chris Stapleton, Brandi Carlile).

The EP title-track tackles tough subjects such as homophobia and also young love as Tommy Atkins looks to represent those who are often underrepresented especially across the country music genre. The song will also be his next radio single and will no doubt open doors for many across the globe.

Speaking about the upcoming single, Tommy says: “I have a totally supportive family, but a lot of people I’ve known didn’t have that growing up. Often an LGBTQ+ person will discover this when they come out to their family after falling in love for the first time. So not only are they dealing with the rollercoaster of emotions that young love brings, but they’re also dealing with rejection from those they were raised by. It’s a lot, and I wanted to write a song that spoke to that.”
