SINGLE REVIEW: Ward Thomas’ ‘Don’t Be A Stranger’ Featuring Cam
Record-making British country-pop duo Ward Thomas return with their very first original single of the New Year with the roots infused track ‘Don’t Be A Stranger’ that is following on from their sublime cover of the Coldplay pop classic ‘Yellow’ which dropped back in January.
Their latest release sees them teaming up with Nashville-based country music vocal powerhouse Cam who jumps onto the record which originally featured on the twins’ fourth studio album ‘Invitation’ which dropped last Autumn – and the result is nothing short of phenomenal.
Hearing the blend of Ward Thomas’ sister harmonies with Cam’s sultry tone is mesmerising and the addition of a third voice elevates the vocal harmony to incredible heights allowing for the song to sound fresh, as they take the album version and tweak it so that it stands alone.
There is something magical that happens within the realms of country music when harmonies collide and with this offering sisters,
Catherine and Lizzy showcase their effortless vocals that combine so beautifully with the ‘Diane’ hitmaker’s making for a breathtaking soundscape.
‘Don’t Be A Stranger’ is already a huge fan favorite and is one of the purest country songs on the ‘Invitation’ record and now this rendition featuring guest vocals from Cam has opened it up to further praise and international radio play – industry insiders are going to be falling over themselves to get this on their playlists.
