Tommy Atkins Announces New Single ‘It Took A Woman’ Featuring Rissi Palmer

Fresh from sharing his newest single titled ‘Stuck Behind A Tractor’, barrier-breaking country artist Tommy Atkins has formally announced details of his brand new offering which sees him teaming up with renowned country star Rissi Palmer for their stunning duet ‘It Took A Woman’.

2020 saw Atkins smash through the glass ceiling and showcase that if the music is good enough you can break through and achieve huge success – in fact, Atkins last year became the first artist to have a hit on country radio in Europe and UK that features openly gay lyrics.

Now he is building on that success by sharing a string of new tracks this year which was kick-started by the aforementioned ‘Stuck Behind A Tractor’ and he will follow that up with the hotly anticipated Rissi Palmer duet which will be released on June 2nd and is expected to be one of the best duets of 2021.

The forthcoming track has been inspired by Tommy Atkins’ husband’s grandmother with the poignant lyrical story celebrating her love, a wonderful base to build a song from, and the fact that it features guest vocals from powerhouse Palmer makes it an even more exciting offering.

Speaking about the track, Tommy says: “This song is a love letter to my husband’s grandmother, who raised him. It’s a love letter to all parents who treat their LGBTQ+ children with love and respect. We haven’t seen much representation of that over the years, so I think it’s important we celebrate that progress this Pride Month.”
