EXCLUSIVE: Drew Green Talks New EP ‘Dirt Boy Vol. 2’
After spending years in Music City writing for a huge variety of artists, multi-skilled music maker Drew Green is now making waves as an artist in his own right and his latest EP ‘Dirt Boy Vol.2’ is an exceptional collection that puts the spotlight on his standout songwriting talent and soulful vocal.
Here we talk exclusively with Drew Green to discuss the record further:
This is the second EP to be released in the series, what was the response like from your fans to the first EP?
When Dirt Boy Vol. 1 came out, we were honestly just getting started. “She Got That” took off pretty quick thanks to the “Hot Country” playlist on Spotify. If you liked vol. 1, I think you’ll love vol. 2.
What can listeners expect from the songs on Vol 2?
You don’t have to be from the country or grow up on a farm to relate to Vol. 2. It’s about working hard and being proud of who you are. If that sounds like you check out Dirt Boy Vol. 2
What’s the writing process been like for you with this project?
With Dirt Boy Vol. 2 we just wanted to keep the “Dirt Boy” vibe rolling since I have so many songs of that nature. I love these songs so much, so for me, it was easier picking songs for this EP.
Do you have a particular favourite song off the EP?
“Cold Beer and Copenhagen” hands down! It’s my favorite song that I’ve recorded so far.
How does it feel to be releasing the music on this EP – what do you hope fans take away from it when they hear the songs?
Hopefully, they will know a little more about me and what kind of music to expect in the future.
How do you think being a writer first has shaped your artistry?
100% the most important thing I did was spend 6 years in the writing room. I’ve adapted so much. Every year I became better and better and unintentionally more me in the process. Confidence has a lot to do with writing, with everything really.
You can stream and download the EP right now across all platforms.
