EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: Wild Fire Talk New Single ‘Like Home’

On-the-rise sister country music duo Wild Fire are continuing on their path to global chart success with the release of their latest single titled ‘Like Home’ out March 25th which is a stunning collaboration with fellow country music duo Honey County with the four vocalists creating a dynamic track that is truly outstanding.

Here we chat exclusively with Wild Fire to discuss the forthcoming release in more detail:

Congratulations on the announcement of your new single, how have you found the response so far?

The single comes out on 3/25/22. We have already announced it to our fans on socials and the response has been overwhelming. There is much excitement brewing out there and we can’t wait for “Like Home” to be released. In fact, we will also be filming a music video. We launched a crowdfunding campaign earlier this month and have almost hit our goal thanks to our awesome fans backing us.

When creating this song, was it always planned as a collaboration or did that happen naturally?

Yes, it was definitely planned. We knew that we wanted to do something special and collaborate with another female country artist, or preferably a duo.

What was the driving force behind getting Honey County involved?

When considering our options, we decided to reach out to Honey County, a duo out of Nashville (at the time they were based in LA). They have a similar style as us and we love their music and overall identity. We also love the fact that they started in LA, which is where we recorded our “Been There” album with songwriter Shane Stevens and producer Nash Overstreet. We reached out to Dani Rose about our idea and she was very enthusiastic about the collaboration.

How was the process of working with them on this release?

The process was very smooth. We all clicked very well like we had been friends for years. We did everything remotely, as many artists do these days. We co-wrote the song with them over Facetime. We took the work tape from that session to our producer in Nashville, Austin Moorehead (guitarist for Carly Pearce), and discussed with him our vision for the track. We then recorded our part with Austin. Once that was complete, we sent everything back to Dani to record their parts. The final tracks were all sent to our mixing engineer in Nashville to finalize the mix. We all really loved the final product!

You’re going to be sharing a visual, how much did you enjoy bringing that vision to life?

Like Home is a song about a long-distance relationship that Kayla went through and all of the ups and downs she experienced during that period. It is a song with deep personal meaning and is very relatable to many people out there. It has elements of storytelling that we all enjoy in country music. The lyrics convey the idea that long-distance relationships are a struggle. However, they can work if both parties work hard at keeping things together by staying in touch, by remaining in each other’s thoughts each day, and by seeking out familiar reminders of that love. It was very fulfilling to bring this story to life in a song so that others can relate to it and be encouraged.

How are you finding the critical overview of this track in terms of industry support?

We just started reaching out to industry media outlets this week. The response has been incredible so far. We have lots of media outlets that will be covering this release and are extremely excited about it. Many editors want to support females in the industry. When you have four females that collaborated on the same track, it carries a lot of weight.

Looking ahead, what else can we expect from you this year?

In the near term, we have three shows scheduled at the Houston Rodeo in February and March of this year. We also have a new album coming out in May 2022. In addition, we plan to film the “Like Home” music video next month. There is much more planned for later this year, including some new single releases that will redefine our sound. We have a busy and productive year ahead!
