EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: Adam Cousins Talks New Single ‘Our Lives’

Recently, on-the-rise Canadian country music singer/songwriter Adam Cousins released his latest single titled ‘Our Lives’, a standout track that has further enhanced his ever-growing reputation in the genre and is giving him the opportunity to showcase his musicianship to a global audience.

Here we chat exclusively with Adam Cousins to discover more about this offering:

Congratulations on the recent single, how are you finding the response so far?

Overall, things are going well and I’ve heard very positive things from those listening. I’m excited to continue reaching an even bigger audience as it’s still quite early on in the song’s life!

As a Canadian artist, how are you finding the international audiences are responding to your sound?

We haven’t seen as much traction internationally at this point, but again it’s still quite early on and we are working on reaching out further as time goes on!

Your style is very authentic, is that honesty important to you as a lyricist?

We’ve been working hard from the beginning to create this unique, authentic, and honest sound. Staying true to the classic country sound has always been important to me, particularly as a lyricist in the context of storytelling. But it has been rewarding to find the places where I can add my own flair and craft to the genre!

What are you hoping listeners take away from this track?

I want them to fall in love again. Find a back road, roll the windows down, crank up the tunes, and feel alive, in the moment, and in love. Just good energy and great memories all around.

Do you have any set goals in mind for this release?

The goal has always been to share my music with more listeners and build a bigger network and support system. This time around it’s felt even more real, as I truly feel we’ve reached a sound we’ve been working so hard to craft. Ultimately, the goal is to make it known that I’m a driving force in the music industry and that I’m not going anywhere anytime soon!

Can we expect a full-length album from you soon?

A full-length album isn’t something I’m actively pursuing at this time – but a project I look forward to tackling further down the road. The immediate future in my music will be more focused on continuing to fine-tune my sound and putting energy into smaller projects. It’s very much quality over quantity right now – I don’t want to rush into something without giving each song the full attention it deserves, just for the sake of saying I’ve released a full-length album.

Looking ahead, what else does 2022 hold in store for you?

I’ve got 2 more upcoming releases by the end of the year and tons of live performances! After being away from in-person events during the pandemic, it’s been amazing to be in front of a live audience again and have a chance to interact more personally with listeners. I’m excited to continue sharing my music and reaching more fans!
