EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: Caitlin Quisenberry Talks ‘The Rainbow’ Cover and The Voice Journey
Currently a part of Team Reba on The Voice US, rising country music star Caitlin Quisenberry has recently released her stunning version of Kacey Musgraves’ global hit ‘Rainbow’. This was Caitlin’s song choice for the “blind audition” stage on the TV talent contest which impressed the judging panel.
Here we chat exclusively with Caitlin Quisenberry to discuss her cover of the track, and what it’s been like being a part of The Voice so far.
Congratulations on the success of your blind audition on The Voice. How have you found the experience so far?
My experience on The Voice so far has been very exciting! I’ve made incredible friendships with some of the other artists on the show and being on Team Reba is a dream come true. Working with The Queen of Country is surreal!
You’re part of Team Reba, how do you feel about the journey to come with her throughout the series?
I’m beyond excited for my journey on The Voice with Reba! She is an icon and has so much experience in the entertainment industry, from music to TV and film. That’s one of the many reasons I chose Reba as my coach. I also share her interest in not only music but also acting. Now that I’ve met Reba and started working with her, I can tell you, she is as sweet in person as she comes across on TV.
What are your long-term goals from competing in the competition?
I’d love to make it as far as possible on the show because The Voice is the most incredible platform for artists and their music. Additionally, I’m eager to learn from Reba’s extensive experience and apply those lessons to my own career.
You’ve recently released your version of Rainbow, which was your audition song. How did the process feel for you, with choosing that song?
I absolutely love this song and because it landed me on The Voice, it will always have a special place in my heart. I’m also a huge fan of Kacey Musgraves, so for that alone, I loved that I was able to sing her beautiful song. To celebrate and commemorate my audition, I decided to release my rendition of the song, so my supporters/listeners could share in my excitement and be part of my journey on The Voice.
How does it feel to have your version officially out in the world?
It feels amazing to have my own version of Rainbow out in the world! It’s a song that I have always looked to, to lift my spirits and get me through the dark, gloomy days – and now I hope my version can do that for others as well.
How have you found the response so far to that track, and your appearance on The Voice?
The track JUST dropped, but so far, the response has been great! Lots of shares and very sweet comments. The responses I’ve received for being on The Voice have been beyond my wildest imagination. I was shocked by how many people have reached out to me, from my childhood, high school days, college/professors, and many of my parent’s friends! I’ve reconnected with many old friends and have made so many new ones! My following has really increased, which has given me a much wider audience to share my music with.
Looking ahead, what else do you have in store for the year?
I still have a lot in store for this year! The most exciting is continuing my journey on The Voice, but I also have lots of new music I’ve been stockpiling and can’t wait to release! So be watching my socials to know when my next song is dropping – it’s very soon!!
