EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: Jack and Tim Talk New Single ‘Dive Bar Jukebox Sound’

Having recently relocated permanently to Nashville from the UK to further their country music career, father-and-son duo Jack and Tim have shared their brilliant new single ‘Dive Bar Jukebox Sound’, which is a track that brilliantly showcases the musical growth they have undertaken over the past few years.

Here we speak exclusively with Jack and Tim to discuss their latest single, musical journey and move to Nashville:

Tim – We’re excited for sure, not overly. I know that may sound strange, but we have so many singles to release off this album that the excitement is spread out. But this is the opening track, and the album title. It’s a pretty fun song.

Jack – I guess we can say we’re Nashville recording artists now, which is cool

Jack – We’ve been back and forth for the last 5 years touring and writing. We became a little despondent early on with the British County scene; we had a good fanbase in the States, and at the time we were selling out decent-sized theatres in the US, so it was a no-brainer. We had to go for it.

Tim – Getting here for anyone on a permanent basis is super tough, but we were awarded the Eb1a Special Talent Visa & Green Cards by the US government, also known as the “Einstein Visa “ which is a pretty big thing. Partly down to my achievements as a Songwriter and producer, which include 7x No1 Major label Singles  / Gold Albums  / Multi Platinum Albums  / Aria Nominations, and more. Whatever it was, it is life-changing, and we are incredibly grateful.

Jack – I think maybe waking up each day knowing that Nashville is now home. You gotta be here to make the right moves.
Just travelling back and forth to try and get a break twice a year was never gonna happen, so now the game begins.

Tim – It’s an intro song to a huge leap we’ve made happen; we’re constantly evolving. The Album is full of surprises, excitement and is at times sonically beautiful. It was mixed by our good friend and 7 x Grammy winner Vance Powell. The man behind Chris Stapleton  / The White Stripes, so we’re incredibly proud of all the songs.

Jack – I’m 21 now, and I wanted “ 1 “ Drinking song on the album, a fun one too . It just so happens that “Dive Bar Jukebox Sound” is also the title and opener to the Album. I’m not sure this builds on what we’ve done before, but when we play it live, the crowd really like shouting out “Cold Beer” LOL

The Single is out on all streaming platforms now, and the Debut US Album is available for Pre-Order on Vinyl (includes a free digital Download copy) at jackandtimmusic.com or Signed Copies at LIVE SHOWS.
