LIVE REVIEW: Carly Pearce @ Highways Festival
On Saturday, May 16th, country music took over the iconic Royal Albert Hall for day two of the Highways Festival, headlined by Kentucky native Carly Pearce, with standout performances from Clover County, Tigirlily Gold, and Corey Kent, who ensured that the second day of the festival was a memorable one.
This was the very first time that Grammy award-winner Carly Pearce had ever headlined a festival, and to do it in London felt even more special for her ever-growing British fanbase, who continually welcome her back with open arms. She is so loved and appreciated on this side of the pond, and that was evident throughout her set.
Carly treated fans to older hits, including the breakout smash ‘Every Little Thing’, and ‘Next Girl’, which delighted the packed auditorium, whilst newer releases such as ‘Church Girl’, ‘Dream Come True’, and ‘You Can Have Him’, provided moments that truly set her apart. She also had the crowd on their feet with ‘Truck On Fire’ and delighted them by teasing new music, including what needs to be the next official single ‘Same Circus’.

Carly Pearce is a country music powerhouse, and her headlining set at Highways Festival was nothing short of phenomenal. Her vocals were strong, clear and smooth whilst her band provided a stellar musical backdrop, ensuring her set was tight and gave her everything she needed to be on top form throughout.
Her set from start to finish was a celebration of everything that came before and everything that is to come, and it was pure joy to see her in her element on that stage. She never fails to deliver a set that is better than the last, and her Highways performance was truly remarkable and ended with a well-deserved standing ovation.
