LIVE REVIEW: Shania Twain Wows Hyde Park Crowd At BST Festival

Following a string of sold-out festival gigs across the UK and Ireland, the sun finally shone for Shania Twain in London as she took to the stage at BST Festival in Hyde Park for the final performance of her British and Irish run of dates. Although she didn’t need any help from the sun in order to shine on the main stage.

Despite the washout weather this summer putting a dampener on outside festivals, Shania Twain has been wowing fans up and down the country and last night (July 7) she impressed the 40,000+ crowd with her infectious energy, confident stage presence, and faultless vocal despite suffering from a heavy cold.

Twain is a superstar and a icon, she puts on an incredible show and aged 58, she has perfected the sharp stage wit that keeps fans entertained between song switches ensuring plenty of laughs and light hearted moments. Few global superstars offer the same warmth and down-to-earth persona Shania so effortlessly possesses.

Guiding the huge London crowd through some of her biggest hits such as ‘Any Man Of Mine’, ‘Honey, I’m Home’, ‘Up’, ‘From This Moment On’ and ‘Giddy Up’, Shania Twain delivered an electric set that crossed genres and generations with tracks from all eras of her illustrious career without skipping a beat.

A real highlight came in the moment she sat centre stage with just a guitar to create an intimate moment for what can only be described as a group rendition of ‘You’re Still The One’. A beautiful moment between artist and fan that united everyone and had all in attendance in full voice.

the curtain came down on her bold 90 minute set with the barnstarming monster worldwide award-winning hit ‘Man! I Feel Like A Woman’ creating a dramatic backdrop before Shania Twain exited the stage to massive roars and cheers from the buoyant London audience at Hyde Park.

Few artists are able to captivate and take so many people on a journey like Shania can. Last night she cemented her legend status with her first performance at Hyde Park since 2003, proving she is still at the top of her game 31 years after arriving on the scene with her debut single ‘What Made You Say That’.
