LIVE REVIEW: Twinnie @ Lafayette London
On Thursday evening (July 14th) British pop-country crossover sensation Twinnie supported Australian country hitmaker Morgan Evans at his headline show in London at the Lafayette Venue located at Kings Cross and she brought the house down with her killer vocals and captivating stage presence.
The York native always comes alive on stage. On Thursday night she delivered an electric performance filled with brand new and unreleased songs alongside latest hits ‘Welcome to the Club’, ‘One Heart’, and ‘Something Or Somebody’ which ensured the crowd were thoroughly entertained.
Throughout her 30-minute set, Twinnie captivated the packed auditorium with new songs that she is considering for her sophomore record including the anthemic pop offering ‘Piece of Work’, sombre ballad ‘Don’t Take My Records Away’ and the soulful ‘Good For You’ which also resulted in a crowd sing-a-long.
The new tracks premiered build on what she created for the ‘Hollywood Gypsy’ album but have more depth and offer listeners a more fine-tuned sonic style that lives in its own genre perfectly blurring the lines of pop, and country thanks to the strong storytelling, and catchy hooks laced within.
Twinnie is a rare musical talent who creates music that cannot be easily check-marked as a certain style, and that is where her power lies as an artist and on Thursday night in London she showcased her outstanding vocal and songwriting ability with a selection of future and current hits that put her on the map as one of Britain’s most exciting artists.
