Misty Dawn Releases New Single ‘Weeping Willow’

On-the-rise country music performer Misty Dawn has released her brand new single ‘Weeping Willow’ into the world and it is a phenomenal female empowerment anthem that is sure to get women everywhere fired up as they belt out the anthemic lyrics all about taking a stand and being your own woman.

Its powerful lyrical story flips the stereotypical relationship dynamic putting the emphasis on the woman being the one who is reluctant to settle down into a committed relationship and later marriage instead wanting to feel free enough to be happy on her own instead of saying “I do”.

It’s a great way to start a conversation as to why it’s always deemed to be the man who feels tied down and the woman eager to walk down the aisle and as with any good country song, ‘Weeping Willow’ takes us through the complete story delivering a wonderful start, middle, and end.

Speaking about the track, Misty Dawn says: “Let’s normalize men crying/pining over women and women being the non-committal,
flippant one in the relationship dynamic. That’s just as true as the other way around. I wanted a country anthem for women who don’t want to get married, who want to be intimate without serious attachment, etc. Even though I personally do want those things, I don’t think it should be a given and we have to be open to different narratives about how we operate in partnership. This is secretly my favorite song on the EP because it has a bit of a funk vibe to it, too!”

It’s a great offering from Misty and one that allows her to shine a light on her incredibly impressive songwriting skill as she delves deep into the subject and delivers a fresh new dynamic and viewpoint making the track ”Weeping Willow’ a real anthem for women all across the world.
