SINGLE REVIEW: Emma and Jolie’s ‘Cry For You’
Following on from the release of their breakout debut single ‘I Don’t Need A Man’ back in the summer which was re-released as an acoustic version shortly after, fast-rising British country-pop duo Emma and Jolie return on Friday, November 13th with their release of their brand new single ‘Cry For You’.
The forthcoming ballad has been co-written by the best friends alongside Lena Stone in Nashville and the result is a phenomenal offering that truly shines a light on their soaring vocal harmonies that are super tight which is a homage to how close they are as friends as their voices mold beautifully together.
The piano-led offering gives Emma and Jolie the opportunity to let their vocal prowess shine like never before and allows for their sonic style to move away from the pop-influenced sound we heard on ‘ Don’t Need A Man’. Instead, this is steeped in classic country vibes which is a truly outstanding breakup song.
Lyrically the track focuses on that heartbreaking moment when you realize that the relationship is over yet your heart still pulls you back to that somebody despite knowing it’s over and the relationship is dead and you still cry for them. It’s an honest, and emotionally charged release that puts Emma and Jolie on the map as the next big thing.
Sonically it’s reminiscent of old-school Taylor Swift, mixed with Maddie and Tae making it a clear standout track. The duo are two insanely talented singer/songwriters and ‘Cry For You’ is a truly outstanding offering that showcases just how effortlessly talented they are, this is a track that could go on to become a global number 1 smash-hit.
