SINGLE REVIEW: Kevin McGuire’s ‘Seeing Things’
Scottish country music talent Kevin McGuire returns with his first official release of 2021 and he is stepping up in a big way with the incredibly impressive new single ‘Seeing Things’ which was co-written with Nashville-based writer Mason Thornley marking his first Music City co-write.
Having a natural flair for telling a story, and a sublime country twang to his impressive vocal, McGuire has always fitted into the genre with ease, and with this track, he has taken a giant step toward international radio play such is the standout organic country-esque production.
Lyrically the track paints strong imagery of a breakup and the struggle of trying to move on from a lover who still lives in the same town and the hurt that comes from seeing them with another person whilst your wounds are still raw – an honest, and relatable tale from one of the best songwriters on the scene at the moment.
The UK country and country crossover scene has an abundance of female talent but there are few male artists making music as good as what Kevin McGuire is delivering and with ‘Seeing Things’ he has stepped it up further and shared a song that the likes of Kane Brown, and Sam Hunt would be proud of.
This single has shown the world that Kevin McGuire has an authentic and real talent for crafting a sure-fire hit and proves that he is ready to create songs that stack up against what is currently coming out of Nashville – he is a hugely talented artist and this track gives him the platform to become the genre’s newest breakout superstar.
