The Rising Announce New Single ‘Ain’t Nobody Got Me Here But Me’
2020 may have been an excruciatingly painful year for musicians across the globe due to the enforced lockdowns and subsequent shutdown of the live sector but that hasn’t stopped Irish duo The Rising from working on and releasing new music and one of those songs ready to be shared is ‘Ain’t Nobody Got Me Here But Me’.
The track which is slated for a January 29th release is the most personal offering yet from the Northern-Ireland rock crossover outfit and one that will see them pushing their sonic boundaries further as they look to take another step toward becoming one of the UK’s most esteemed country acts.
The lyrical story is raw, honest, and relatable as it tells the story of the inner battle and turmoil many independent and signed musicians face on a daily basis; that feeling of all the sacrifices made to get to a milestone, the what could have’s, and the hurtful setbacks along the way.
The forthcoming release follows on from their newest Christmas single that dropped just before the Holidays this past December and sees them further building on the success of their 2020 single releases such as the rock-infused ‘2AM Call’ that was one of their biggest streaming hits to date.
Speaking about ‘Ain’t Nobody Got Me Here But Me’, The Rising say: “The song itself is probably the most personal song we have ever written. It is written about the inner battles we face as independent musicians and all the sacrifices we make in the pursuit of our dreams. Be it a steady income, the ability to have a comfortable life, the ‘normal’ life path, and of course dealing with the constant rejection. Knowing that your love of music will carry you forward. However, what happens when love isn’t enough to get you through and you want to give up. But we learn to accept this situation and as much as we may moan about it and wish for a more comfortable life we know that we cannot blame anyone for the decisions we make and we have to live with those decisions”.
