Tommy Atkins Announces Debut Album ‘Truth Be Told’
Following on from a string of breakout hit singles, on-the-rise British country music talent Tommy Atkins has formally announced the exciting details of his long-awaited and hotly anticipated debut album ‘Truth Be Told’, the forthcoming record will release across all platforms from Wednesday, September 1st.
Over the past couple of years, Atkins has built his career and has now started to receive some major critical and international success with placements on CMA playlists, multiple award wins, and even several performances at the iconic Bluebird Cafe venue in Nashville under his belt.
He is a truly outstanding talent, and a much-needed voice for change within the country music genre – back last year Tommy Atkins made history with the first country song in the UK and Europe to feature overtly gay lyrics. ‘Freedom’ was playlisted by hundreds of major country radio and pop stations marking a change in the tide for LGBTQ+ artists.
And now he is ready to build on that solid foundation of success with his inaugural LP next month. The upcoming collection is an open and honest body of work from the skilled lyricist and vocalist and one that allows him to further cement his status as the next breakout country singer/songwriter.
Speaking about the album, Tommy Atkins says: “The main reason I began a recording career was because I didn’t see myself fully represented in country music, and I figured there were a lot of other people out there who didn’t see themselves either. I wish I’d heard this kind of album when I was a kid. This album is a space where artists and musicians of different sexualities, genders and races co-exist, and human stories are told. And when human stories are told, people from all walks of life can connect to them.”
