Morgan Johnston Releases New Single ‘After Me’

On-the-rise Nashville-based artist Morgan Johnston is ready to take her flourishing career to the next step with the release of her brand new single titled ‘After Me’ which is out today (Friday, July 1st) across all leading streaming and digital download platforms and it’s one that you’ll want on your playlists.

The latest offering from the multi-skilled country-influenced singer/songwriter comes on the back of the breakout success of previous release ‘The End’ which saw her getting major support from US outlets including Taste Of Country, and Nights With Elaina, whilst leading UK station Absolute Radio Country also supported.

And now Morgan Johnston is ready to build on that solid foundation with the new single ‘After Me’ which features a nostalgic and contemplative vibe with the lyrical story focusing on a woman who is reflecting on the sombre, and complex feelings of what it would feel like to be with someone, after they had to lose her.

It’s a clever and original way to look at the feelings surrounding a breakup and one that showcases the intricate writing style that Morgan possesses whilst also giving her the platform to put the spotlight on her strong vocal control – this is a track that has the potential to put her on the map as the “next big thing”.

Speaking about the single, Morgan says: “The idea for this song stemmed from my own story that I think a lot of people can identify with. Sometimes we invest effort, time and love into a relationship and it doesn’t work out and that’s okay. In the end, we always learn something, but it felt imperative for me to write a song that shined a light on the struggles of watching someone imply all of the lessons they learned from losing you and going on to be the best version of themselves. A version they were never able to give during the relationship. A version that they could only become after learning the hard lesson of losing you. A note to the listener: I hope that this song makes you reflect, I hope it makes you feel seen and validated and most importantly, I hope it reminds you to be precious with the love you choose to give.
