Stephanie Ryann Announces New Single ‘About Me’
Stephanie Ryann is one of those rare talents that always manages to capture a feeling and sense of worth within her songs and as she begins to further build a reputation within Nashville and the wider country music scene she is gearing up for the release of what is possibly her best song yet.
The forthcoming track is titled ‘About Me’ and will be available to stream and download across all leading digital platforms worldwide from Friday, August 19th with the lyrical focus being on bullying, beautifully expressing that you do not need to let that negative experience hold space in your world.
It’s a hard-hitting track from Stephanie Ryann with the words coming from a very personal place. Unfortunately, a lot of people are going to resonate with the lyrics having been through bullying themselves but the great thing is that they will feel seen within a safe space through this release and give themselves the freedom to not let that hurt become a mainstay in their lives.
Speaking about the track, Stephanie says: “People are always going to have something to say about you, for better or worse, true or false, but as I’ve gotten older I’ve really come to understand that those who try to bring you down are the ones who have the problem. It’s not you or what you’re doing…there’s something deeper bothering that person and you just happened to bhave een chosen as the ‘punching bag’ for the day. I wish I better understood this as a kid when I was being bullied. I’m hoping this song reminds those who are being bullied that the lies someone spreads about you speaks volumes about who they are, not about who you are,”
It’s a powerful take on why bullies do exactly what they do and gives power back to the victim allowing them to realise that their self-worth is not determined by anyone regardless of what they are saying or doing to you – it also gives further emphasis to the phrase; hurt people, hurt people.
