LIVE REVIEW: Sarah Darling @ The Listening Room Cafe
Last night (Tuesday, June 13th) Nashville-based country music sweetheart Sarah Darling played the iconic Listening Room Cafe in the heart of music city alongside Julie Lavery, Emily Shackelton, and Phil Barton for an evening of incredible intimate live music and stories behind the songs.
Sarah has always been an artist who is able to transport listeners through words and melody and in the up-close-and-personal space at this venue she was able to do that with ease, particularly on the track ‘Red Mustang’ which will be her next official single – we all felt like we were cruising the 101 with her.
There is always something genuinely captivating that happens whenever Sarah Darling sings live. Last night at The Listening Room Cafe she had the audience in awe of her honey-toned vocals, and heartfelt lyrics – there are some people who were born to be singer/songwriters and the Iowa native is one of them.
A real standout and highlight of the night was the new song she debuted; ‘Queen of Silver Linings’ a heartfelt ballad about realising that it’s okay to not be okay and that it is okay to be hurt when something goes wrong or not the way you expected – you don’t always need to wear a mask and pretend that everything is fine when it’s not.
Fans new and old fell in love with Sarah Darling’s engaging personality, down-to-earth demeanour and incredible artistry last night and they will get the chance to see her playing live across America in the coming months on her Pink Skies summer tour – an event not to be missed if you love fantastic vocals and inspiring country songs.
