VIRTUAL LIVE REVIEW: Sarah Darling @ Haley and Michaels’ ‘Drinking About YoU.K’ Tour
Following a month-long series of live-stream concerts as part of their virtual ‘Drinking About YoU.K tour Nashville based country music duo Haley and Michaels tonight (Thursday, August 27th) closed out the series with a stunning showcase from Sarah Darling who performed from her Nashville home.
The virtual tour has been designed to shine a light on UK country talent but with Sarah officially being an adopted Brit she has been allowed to join in the party by showcasing her gorgeous, voice in a breathtaking live-set that captured her angel-like live vocal display beautifully.
Performing a stunning three-song set from her house Sarah Darling delivered a mesmerizing live-stream as she shone a light on her truly outstanding vibrato driven voice that is one of the purest vocals you’re ever likely to hear as she cemented her status as the leading female vocalist coming out of Music City’s country scene.
Kicking -off with a stripped-back rendition of her 2019 hit single ‘Call Me’, Sarah delivered a gorgeous acoustic version of the pop-tinged track that allowed the sonic production backdrop to be driven into new avenues whilst shining a light on the Iowa native’s soaring vocal ability.
For her second song of her set-list, Darling performed a brand new song titled ‘Pretender’ which is a track off her forthcoming fifth studio album which is currently being put together right now by the singer/songwriter. It’s a stunning ballad that offers a brand new sonic stylistic and evolution of her country, roots sound.
To close out her divine set, Sarah delivered a gorgeous acoustic version of Shania Twain’s ‘You’re Still The One’ which is fast becoming a major part of any live show from Sarah with the track being a part of her Campfire Sessions project. Her version pulls the song back to its country core and delivers a truly heartfelt rendition that is just magical.
Along with performing a truly mesmerizing live set, Sarah Darling also talked about her upcoming record and gave further insight into her backstory and pathway to becoming an adopted Brit as she shone a light on her sweet, delicate vocal tone and incredible songwriting talent. Darling also confirmed that a brand new Campfire Sessions release will be dropping on October 2nd.
