Maddie and Tae Announce Festive EP ‘We Need Christmas’

Nashville based country music duo Maddie and Tae have formally announced details of their very first festive record in the form of their upcoming six-track holiday EP titled ‘We Need Christmas’ which will be dropping on Friday, October 23rd across all streaming and digital download platforms.

The forthcoming project features two brand new original Christmas songs that sit alongside four covers of hit classics that the girls have expertly put their own spin on to ensure they deliver a beautiful new twist on the tracks whilst always making sure to retain the magic of the original recordings.

To bring the ‘We Need Christmas’ EP to life Maddie and Tae have worked alongside esteemed producers Jimmy Robbins and Derek Wells to create a truly divine festive classic record that is steeped in country sonic stylistics that the best friends are famous for and thanks to their gorgeous harmonies the holiday hits sound even more magical.

Speaking about their inaugural Christmas collection, Maddie and Tae say: “We are so proud of this project and loved recreating some of our favorite Christmas classics as well as write some of our own. Making ‘We Need Christmas’ was such a bright spot for us this year and we hope this project brings a little joy and peace to our fans during this difficult year.”

The tracklist will include covers of Donny Hathaway’s ‘This Christmas’, the Johnny Marks composition ‘Holly Jolly Christmas’, the beloved carol ‘O Come All Ye Faithful’, and Phil Spector, Jeff Barry, and Ellie Greenwich’s ‘Christmas (Baby Please Come Home) first recorded by Darlene Love.
