Bob Harris Shares ‘Stand By Me’ Video
On Tuesday, October 27th, Whispering “Bob” Harris releases his all-star rendition of the Ben E. King classic ‘Stand By Me’ with the 2020 version featuring a raft of homegrown and international country stars who have been brought together to help raise much-needed funds for the charity Help Musicians.
The single was recorded during lockdown with artists sending in vocals from home studios and the result is a phenomenal cover that has a new meaning thanks to the way artists are currently being treated by the government as they desperately try to find support in the face of ongoing restrictions.
The track will be made available to download and stream from October 27th which will mark 60 years since the original release and funds are being raised via gofundme.com/standbyme2020 with the aim of a £10,000 target so far almost £8,000 has been raised by generous fans.
And as the build-up to the launch continues Bob Harris has now shared the official music video for ‘Stand By Me’ from the all-stars with the brilliant visual featuring the likes of Twinnie, The Shires, Ward Thomas, Jimmie Allen, Darius Rucker, Sam Palladio, Laura Oakes, and many more familiar faces all filmed in quarantine.
It is a hugely impressive video that shines a light on the incredible music talent the world has to offer in these trying times. A huge crew of people worked extremely hard to get this visual and audio together and the result is nothing short of incredible, this really is one of the very best versions of ‘Stand By Me’.
