Lizzie Cates Releases New Single ‘Christmas Eve’
It’s officially December which means we are now allowed to blast Christmas music as loud and os ofter as we want without judgment and helping us get into the festive spirit further is on-the-rise Nashville-based country-pop singer/songwriter Lizzie Cates who delivers the brilliant ‘Christmas Eve’.
The track is a stellar love story that both feels like a warm hug and a scene right out of a Hallmark Christmas movie making it an instant cosy classic that allows for Cates to showcase her immense songwriting talent and effortless vocal ability as she gifts fans one of the best holiday singles this year.
The image evoking lyrics bring to life poignant memories of past festive seasons and are laced with a magic that only seems to arrive at this time of year. There’s a breezy vibe throughout that is overlayed with true Christmas spirit and love and is one of the best tracks you’re likely to hear this December.
Speaking about the track, Lizzie Cates says: “After a write, I had with the same writers, Kate Hasting calls me while she was on the treadmill and says that she thinks we should write a Christmas song. So, we all got together the next day and wrote “Christmas Eve” about how there’s always someone who makes Christmas feel like Christmas, and without them, it just doesn’t feel the same. In the case of the song, it was about a relationship with someone you felt so close to but had broken up the following year. However, the magic of the season makes you feel hopeful that that person just might feel the same way. We kind of left the song up to interpretation and let the listeners kind of decide if they get back together or not. We loved the song so much that we recorded it on the same day and decided to release it this year two weeks later.”
It’s an outstanding offering from the multi-talented performer who has immersed herself in the country-pop crossover world and is now one of Nashville’s most promising rising stars and with releases as good as this one it won’t be too long until she becomes a global breakout artist.
