Harriet Rose Announces New Single ‘Love Me Like That’
Fast-rising British country music talent Harriet Rose is well on her way to becoming the genre’s latest breakout star and with her brand new single ‘Love Me Like That’ scheduled for release on Friday, February 5th, her push toward global chart and streaming success is taking a giant leap.
The forthcoming track which has been solely written by Harriet showcasing that she is a multi-talented performer able to hold her own in the country music world focuses on a relationship where one person feels severely undervalued and unappreciated – something many can relate to.
It’s a powerful release from the rising talent and one that sets a marker for what’s to come over the next twelve months from a singer/songwriter with the world at her feet. She is an artist capable of pushing sonic boundaries and creating a lane that is uniquely her own and this feels like just the start.
The upcoming single should have been officially released last year by Harriet Rose but restrictions surrounding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic meant that things were put on hold but the wait for ‘Love Me Like That’ has been so worth it and its February release can’t come soon enough.
Speaking about the track and the process behind bringing it to fruition, Harriet says: “The impulse to write the song came from a friend who had been in a horrible, abusive relationship and for so long blamed herself. The song wallows in the sadness and regret of the relationship, but towards the end comes the realisation that to be mistreated by someone you love isn’t your fault, allowing healing to start. I began recording the track last September with Pete at Flatwave Music. I had hoped to release this last year but due to restrictions, it took slightly longer than planned to finish. I always love the experience of working in the studio and this song was no different. The fun is entirely in the building of the song and it was tricky not to overdo it with LMLT as I wanted it to be fragile and intimate but also have the full band sound which could build and drop away at times. I am over the moon with the final sound and it was also great to work ‘virtually’ with Ben Smith who was able to offer his banjo and slide skills which really rounded off the track”.
