EXCLUSIVE: Danielle Bradbery Talks New Single ‘Yo Nunca He/Never Have I Ever’ Featuring Kurt

Earlier this month US country music talent Danielle Bradbery wowed with the release of the Spanish version of her worldwide hit single ‘Never Have I Ever’, with the power vocalist teaming up with Latin performer Kurt for ‘Yo Nunca He’ elevating the already impressive track to incredible new heights.

Here we catch up with Danielle Bradbery for a brief chat to find out a little more about the process behind this exciting new version of the smash-hit single:

Congratulations on the release of ‘Yo Nunca He’, how are you finding the response so far?

Thank you! Everyone seems to love it and I’ve noticed I’ve gained some new fans, which I’m excited about. It’s been super fun to see!

What was the driving force behind choosing to share ‘Never Have I Ever’ in Spanish?

I’ve always been so in love with Latin music – I grew up on it! My grandmother was a huge inspiration for wanting to do a song in Spanish, and I finally had the opportunity to. It just doesn’t feel real – hah!

How did you find the process of translating the lyrics into another language for this offering?

I worked with the two producers that worked on ‘Despacito’ (Andres and Mauricio); they translated the song into Spanish and helped me with the pronunciation. They were literally on Zoom while I cut vocals – haha. I’m so happy they were there to help!

You’ve also teamed up with Kurt for the new version, how did that collaboration come about?

The second verse in Spanish was too fast for me (Andres and Mauricio told me it was essentially a “rap” haha!). So, we decided to ask another Latin artist to jump on it and that’s how we found KURT. He made it his own and his voice is so beautiful that it sounded perfect with him on it!

How did you find working with Kurt within the current climate of COVID restrictions?

It was unfortunate that we couldn’t meet in person and work together in that way, but we somehow made it work just as well! Thank goodness for videos and FaceTimes!!

How have your co-writers reacted to having a Spanish version of ‘Never Have I Ever’ out in the world?

They think it’s super cool and thought it was awesome that the song could do so many things!
