Fast-rising British country music performer Laura Oakes has today (Friday, February 12th) wowed with her newest single ‘Do It For You’ which is a stunning acoustic offering lifted off the new stripped-back EP ‘How Big Is Your World’ which also drops today across streaming and download platforms.

The latest song is the final one to be shared off the stunning five-track record and is a never before released offering although fans will be familiar with the stellar track as it has become a staple of her live sets in recent times and is one that fans have fallen in love with, which played a pivotal role in it becoming an official single.

This is also a truly authentic offering from Laura Oakes with her singing vocal, playing guitar, and mandolin, and also co-producing the expertly crafted self-penned hit alongside Luke Barratt – this is a song that showcases the many talents Oakes has to offer the ever-growing UK country scene.

Speaking about the single, Laura says: “Personally, the idea of the song started for me about the judgment a lot of people, myself included have faced surrounding wearing make up. You don’t wear enough and people ask if you’re feeling well, but you wear ‘too much’ and it’s ‘who are you trying to impress?’. The expectation is that it is always for the benefit of someone else. I took that starting point as the wider message for Do It For You. It’s simply about living how you want to live, looking how you want to look and doing what you want to do because it feels right and authentic for you – not for anyone else”.
