VIRTUAL LIVE REVIEW: Sarah Darling @ Basement East

Last night (August, 25th), country music sweetheart Sarah Darling performed live with a full band for the first since the Coronavirus pandemic first began in early 2020 and it was a magical return to the main stage spotlight for the honey-toned vocalist who captures the hearts of fans everywhere she sings.

The intimate gig took place at the iconic Basement East venue in Nashville, Tennessee, and was streamed worldwide via Dreamstage with Sarah taking the opportunity to debut a host of new songs that she has been working on during the enforced shutdown over the past 18 months – and she has certainly made gold out of that period.

The forthcoming EP was perfectly introduced by the divinely talented singer/songwriter last night with her premiering her new California-country soundscape via the incredible new tracks such as ‘Red Mustang’, ‘Hungover’, ‘Pretender’, and ‘Good Girl’ all of which give listeners a little taste of what’s to come from the funky hybrid sound that she has crafted for this record.

As a live performer, Sarah Darling instantly captivates any audience she is in front of and she did that once again last night, thanks to her delicate vocal tone, and easy on-stage charm – other song highlights included the outstanding ‘That Song Still Gets To Me’ which has been co-written by Emily Shackelton and Carly Pearce and the gorgeous ‘Get To Me’.

During the truly outstanding gig, Sarah also confirmed that the forthcoming EP will be spearheaded by the new single ‘Waves’ which is a stunningly crafted heartbreak ballad about love and yearning. This is a song that is going to leave listeners wanting more and more from the incredibly gifted vocalist.
