Song Of The Week – Sarah Darling’s ‘Song Still Gets Me’
After a two week break, we are delighted to be back with our Song Of The Week series alongside the amazing folk over at Modern Age Music and we are even more thrilled to confirm that this week’s chosen song is the truly outstanding latest release from Sarah Darling; ‘Song Still Gets Me’.
The absolutely phenomenal piano-led ballad is a luscious offering from the esteemed country music vocalist who delivers a crystal clear vocal that brings a heartbreaking yearning to the poignant lyrical story that focuses on lost love and that “what could have been” feeling that we often get after a breakup.
It is a stellar release from the Iowa native who puts her marker on the Carly Pearce, Emily Shackelton, and Gordie Sampson penned song. It’s not often that Darling shares a track that she hasn’t written/co-written but this feels like it was created solely for her voice and it is the perfect next instalment of her forthcoming EP project.
She is without a doubt one of the most naturally gifted vocalists on the scene right now and with ‘Song Still Gets Me’ she puts the spotlight further on her mesmerising vocal tone that is simply divine as she transports listeners to the heart of the lyrical story creating a dynamic visual aesthetic.
And for fans who can’t wait to hear Sarah Darling perform this single live there are still a few tickets left for her upcoming matinee show in Brighton which is promoted by Modern Age Music – the evening show is sold-out as her two London gigs so be sure to grab tickets for this early evening showcase while you can.
