Brittney Spencer Releases new Single ‘Sober & Skinny’
Country music talent Brittney Spencer is an artist who likes to continuously write new lyric ideas and brainstorm story arcs at the start of each week so she is not going into a writing session cold, and working from scratch and her latest offering ‘Sober & Skinny’ was one of those little blooms that turned into a fully-fledged song.
The chorus for the freshly released offering was almost completely finished when Brittney brought the idea up during a co-writing session via Zoom with fellow musicians Nelly Joy and Jason Reeves, both formally of country music band Gone West and the track quickly came together with the trio crafting the hit.
The single was then expertly produced by Aaron Eshuis who has done a wonderful job of creating a gorgeous sonic backdrop that allows the focus to be on the thought-provoking lyrics, and Brittney Spencer’s powerful vocal. LIght, crisp, and ethereal, ‘Sober & Skinny’ is one of those releases that will go down in history as a soul-baring, hard-hitting smash-hit.
Speaking about the track, Brittney says: “I don’t necessarily always feel the need to have a song resolve. In this particular case, that means the couple in question — one-half of whom “overeat[s],” the other of whom drinks perhaps a bit too much — “swear it’s gonna change,” but they never do anything to overcome their vices”
It is a raw and authentic release from the wonderfully gifted Brittney Spencer as she showcases her incredible artistry in all its glory. She truly is one of the most impressive and talented voices within the country music world and this latest track has shone a light further on her effortless ability.
