Parker Graye Releases New Single ‘Last Time’

on-the-rise country music talent Parker Graye is ready to close out a personal part of her chapter with newest single ‘Last Time’ which follows on from previous releases ‘Do Over’ and ‘Before You Leave’ with the latest offering closing out that story with a realisation that it is now time to move on.

The track focuses on the personal story of falling for a farm boy who Graye thought would be her forever, it’s a song that reminds the listener that sometimes the people who you think you know best are often the one’s that you truly know the least about. It’s a tale of that perfect dream falling apart.

It perfectly builds on the foundations that Parker Graye laid with the two other singles in the trilogy of this story arc and excellently closes the book bringing an end to the fantasy of the “happy ever after” that she had hung on that boy, and allows her to deliver an eye-opening true-to-life country hit.

Speaking about the single, Graye says: “Releasing “Last Time” was never my plan. I played “Last Time” at a showcase in March of 2020 and while performing it, I noticed how silent the room was. It almost felt like no one was there at all… that’s when I knew. I wrote this song with Luca Fogale in 2019 only days after the final breakup with the farm boy I wrote about in my two previous singles. We took texts, the future I’d painted in my mind, the years of dishonesty and emptied it all onto paper. It was the most vulnerable I’d ever been in a session, it exposed a part of me I never knew existed. The song meant so much to me I was afraid of even bringing it to life, fearful that it wouldn’t sound like I was hearing it until I met Spencer Cheyne. We spent 2 days in the studio and it truly felt cathartic. I barely held back tears on every take and bawled my eyes out on every playback. This song really does mean so much to me and I hope that it connects with people who have been through similar situations”.

It is a truly beautiful offering from one of the genre’s brightest rising stars and it is one that allows her to showcase her wonderful vocal tone and ever-maturing songwriting skill as she delves deep into her soul to deliver a mesmerising country heartbreak smash that has the potential to become a global hit.
