Caitlin Mae Announces New Single ‘A Candle For Christmas’
Fast-rising Welsh country music talent Caitlin Mae has become a well-known voice within her hometown of Caerphilly and back in 2019, she was chosen to join country music superstar Carrie Underwood on stage in Cardiff City at the Motorpoint Arena during her Cry Pretty World Tour.
Her style is very much influenced by the aforementioned Underwood along with Taylor Swift making her sonic style a beautiful blend of country-pop that suits her youthful energy, and soaring vocal control and as her sound and voice mature further she is ready to take the next step to becoming one of the UK’s leading country performers.
And with her latest release which drops on Friday, November 13th, Caitlin Mae is ready to bring us a song that will make us thankful for what we have during this holiday season. It’s a standout offering from the on-the-rise sensation and one that allows her to set a marker for further releases.
The track is poignant and moving with a bittersweet lyrical story that focuses on a young woman who is grieving her late lover who was a serving soldier who lost their life fighting on the frontline. It’s a mature theme that is far-reaching beyond Mae’s young age and one that allows her to dig deep as a songwriter.
Speaking about the forthcoming release, Caitlin Mae says: “A Candle for Christmas” tells the tale of a young woman who desperately misses her partner, a soldier, who was killed in the line of duty. Through the verses, she reminisces on the memories they had together… My family has connections to military personnel so I really hope that the words I feel do it justice. I feel that this song reflects on a journey that many people have travelled, even more so this year – and, although this particular story does not originate from a personal Covid-19 related experience, I hope that it honours those who have dealt with the loss of someone special and feel alone at Christmas time”.
