Cam Releases New Album ‘The Otherside’

Country music powerhouse Cam is back and sounding better than ever with brand new album ‘The Otherside’ which is her first full-length record in five years and follows on from the worldwide success of ‘Untamed’ which featured the Grammy, ACM, and CMA nominated ‘Burning House’ single.

The record is hugely impressive featuring a number of standout songs that weave between soaring pared-back country ballads, and stellar pop crossover anthems whilst also including outstanding writing collaborations with the likes of British global superstars Sam Smith and Harry Styles.

Cam is one of the genre’s most powerful vocalists, and accomplished songwriters and this LP brings together all her greatest attributes on one truly phenomenal tracklist that will no doubt spark a flurry of award nomination as she bursts back onto the scene after five years away from sharing albums.

Speaking to Nashville Scene about the collection, Cam stated: “I know there are a lot of different definitions of country music. The truth is, I just think I am in this space because I can sing songs to make people laugh and to make people cry. I don’t know a lot of other spaces that allow you to do that.”

The album certainly does its job of helping to redefine what country music is. This is a collection of stories that are steeped in the old school tradition of three chords and the truth whilst the sweeping pop soundscape that overlays several of the tracks drives it into exciting new territory.
