Cory Michael Releases New Single ‘Waist High Water’ FT Bigg Vinny

Rising country talent Cory Michael has shared his stellar new single ‘Waist High Water’ which features guest vocals from Bigg Vinny and delivers a celebration of what it means to have a good time. With its fun, feel-good lyrical approach the track entices listeners to let go of their inhibitions and let their hair down.

Featuring a smooth country groove backdrop against relaxed vocals, this latest offering is all about having some amazing summer fun. Many people around the world who feel they are in mundane jobs are stressed out on a daily basis as they continue to hit the grindstone in order to make rent, so this track is a welcome distraction from the every day, and a little reminder that it’s okay to let go and have a good time.

The single opens with Cory Michael singing about the drab energy many people feel as they clock into their 9 to 5 roles on a daily basis. This slowed down energy quickly changes pace to point out the need for a weekday getaway every now and then to recharge and he truly brings the party vibe in the anthemic chorus;

Speaking about his latest release, Cory states: “Waist High Water came after another write that morning. I was writing with Chad Sellers. We wrote that morning and didn’t really get anything solid. By no fault of Chad, of course, Chad is an excellent writer. I was kind of in a funk I guess. I got home and was a bit frustrated by the lack of work success that day, so I pulled out the guitar and just started jamming. The rhythm felt groovy and made me want to getaway. I finished the first draft in about an hour. It felt good but was missing something. We got ready to record the song and to finish it, I wrote the bridge. After writing the bridge, Bigg Vinny is the only guy we could see doing it. We called him up and he was gracious enough to jump on it. We had a blast cutting it with David Mescon and Joel Jorgenson, and we are looking forward to shooting the video.”
