Country Hits Radio Announce New Matt Spracklen Show Format
Matt Spracklen has quickly become one of the leading DJ’s in country music thanks to his support of rising and established acts across his shows for Country Hits Radio in the UK and with the genre growing even further in Britain it has been confirmed that we can expect a major shake-up in order to shine a light on the Brit artists even further.
Up until now, Spracklen has been hosting Country Hits Brits which was a brilliant a 1-hour long show on Sunday nights that played exclusively only songs from UK acts but this is changing – the format as it stands is no more in fact last Sunday’s show was the last one ever.
Now, instead of a weekly 60-minute episode being dedicated solely to British country artists, Matt Spracklen has been handed a Saturday afternoon show at 1 pm that he will front which will be an extended bumper 3 hour-long showcase where he will mix in the Country Hits Brits with the rest of all that are big in country music.
This bold move means that Matt will have full creative control of which Brit country acts get playlisted and when meaning that UK country artists will get what they’ve always wanted. This is a huge step forward and massively levels the playing field allowing for the likes of Twinnie, Kezia Gill, Shannon Hynes, Backwoods Creek, etc to be rotated alongside Sam Hunt, Miranda Lambert, Florida Georgia Line, Danielle Bradbery and so many more.
Speaking about the news, Matt Spracklen says: “What I’m going to be able to do now is what the British scene needs and what our artists want – and that is to be recognised as part of all country music and to be in the mix with the biggest stars of country music. So now I’m going to playing all the Country Hits Brits I always have in the 1-hour show but spread across 3 hours with all of today’s best country”
