EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: Jade Helliwell Talks 2024 Highlights & Upcoming Plans

British country music artist Jade Helliwell is having a fantastic 2024 so far with incredible successes, a trip to Nashville, upcoming London shows and so much more. Here we chat exclusively with Jade to discuss her highlights and what’s still to come.

Congratulations on all the latest success. How are you finding this new part of your career?

Thank you, this new era of my career is really exciting. I’m working on new music, getting to visit new places and work with new people and it’s all really exciting.

You’ve recently been out in Nashville too, what’s that experience been like for you?

It was incredible. It’s a place I love and have visited many times but this trip was different. I caught up with friends, did some co-writing and got to play a bunch of shows including a writer’s round at The Bluebird Cafe which was a real bucket list event for me. Being in that room knowing the artists who’ve played there felt soooo good!

How do you feel the two scenes differ?

I think they are very similar but maybe the big difference is Nashville is the hub of Country Music so there are writers rounds happening somewhere every night which isn’t the case (yet!) over here. It’s such an inspiring town.

You’ll be back in London performing for Nashville Meets London soon, how excited are you to be playing the showcase?

I can’t wait to play NML this month. I love these events and I’m really excited to be heading back to London and being a part of this event opening for Kristian Bush.

How does it feel to be a part of the NML family?

It’s a brilliant feeling to be welcomed by NML. I played the festival back in 2018 and have been lucky enough to play the Pizza Express events a few times and they are always a great, friendly evening.

What can fans expect from your set?

I’m excited to be playing a stripped-back set showcasing the music I have out in the world as well as a sneak at some of the new music to come from me including from my upcoming How Love Goes EP.

What else does 2024 hold for you?

I’m going to be releasing a new EP (dates coming really soon!) and taking that on tour in October! The How Love Goes Tour hits the road on October 9th starting in London and takes me up and down the country. Tickets are on sale now. I also have a weekend in Odense in Denmark, returning to the Nashville Nights International Songwriters Festival and a couple of appearances at The British Country Music Festival this month.
