EXCLUSIVE: Parker Graye Talks New Single ‘Cowboys Go’

On Friday, November 19th fast-rising country music talent Parker Graye will release her hotly anticipated new single ‘Cowboys Go’ which is expected to be one of the most impressive singles to be shared this year with the multi-skilled performer further demonstrating her unique vocal and songwriting talent.

Here we chat with Parker Graye to discuss the track further:

How excited are you to be on the verge of sharing new music?
Releasing music is one of the most nerve-wracking and equally incredible feelings. I’m always a bit of a nervous wreck sharing my feelings with the world but once it’s out I really try to fully release it and just be proud of what I’ve accomplished.

How are you feeling to be releasing new songs post lockdown?
Beyond feeling grateful to be able to release new music I don’t really feel any which way! My real hope is that I can start playing out in the coming months and share these songs in real life with folks!

What have these past two years meant to you and how has it affected your creativity?
Honestly, the pandemic made some incredible shifts in my life and frankly I see the whole experience as a gift. The pandemic gave me time to really focus on music, meet some incredible humans and expand my circle in Nashville, write some unreal songs via zoom and really spend some time thinking about what I want my career to look like. I felt like I had more space and time to think creatively, process some emotions and past experiences and not feel pressure to write songs. I just wrote songs because I love to, not for a project or a deadline. It felt so dang good!

In regards to the new single, who have you worked with to bring the track to life?
I co-wrote “Cowboys Go” with my talented friends, Colton Venner and Bo Armstrong in Nashville. Kate Malone produced the single, mixed by Kyle Dreaded and mastered by Gabi Grella. My hope was to get more females on this project and specifically work with a female producer and I’m so happy we could make that happen! Kate was an absolute dream to work with, we just clicked on our first call and I knew immediately she was the right person to bring this single to life.

What are you hoping listeners take away from the lyrical story?
“Cowboys Go” is a combination of sadness, simply being over dating and how past experience has inevitably made you into a bit of a pessimist. Y’ALL, I SEE YOU!!! It’s tough putting yourself out there, keeping your heart open and trusting that you’ll meet your person when the time is right. I hope this song makes folks feel a little less alone in that feeling and gives them a moment to just be in their feels and sing along. Also on the flip side… Cowboys are the OG’s of ghosting, HOW HAVE WE NEVER TALKED ABOUT THIS!?!!

Do you have any set goals in mind for this release?
I’d obviously love to see “Cowboys Go” reach every human on the planet and everyone to fall in love with it, but truthfully, I just hope that those who have been following my journey fall in love with this single as much as the last few. Enough so that they’ll be dying to share it with their friends and put it on repeat!

Looking ahead, what does the last couple of months of 2021 hold in store?
So many people have yet to hear my first 3 singles so I plan on doing as much promo as I can on those, pushing “Cowboys Go”, writing as much as I can and planning for 2022!
