Foreign Affairs Release New Single ‘The Hope Comes Again’

Today (October 30th) Bristol-based country music duo Foreign Affairs release their brand new single ‘The Hope Comes Again’ with fans having heard it for the first time on Thursday, October 29th when it got its worldwide exclusive premiere on BBC Radio 2’s Country Show with Bob Harris.

The track has been written, recorded, and produced by the brothers Adam and Larence Purnell making it a real, and honest reflection of these uncertain times and the fragility and hopelessness we can often feel in this period, but there is also a message of hope weaved throughout and the certainty that “this too will pass”.

Foreign Affairs are well known across the close-knit British country music circuit thanks to their powerful harmonies, and relatable storytelling that is steeped in classic country traditions whilst their overlay of luscious guitar strings that often run through their music makes it have a modern-day vibe allowing for them to reach a wider mainstream audience.

Their latest release comes on the back of the official music video for their previous release ‘One Minute’ which was a gorgeous piece of artistry and an offering that allowed the pair to showcase a deeper side of their music and deliver something truly outstanding as they continue to rise the ranks.

Speaking about the new track, Lawrence says: “The song was written about me, from someone who can feel sadness but who is lucky enough to be able to see the positive in a person or situation, I can always see the hope”

Whilst Adam adds: “The whole process of writing, producing, and recording the song was very organic, carried out at home in Bristol. It felt comfortable and the best environment for this song”
