Hayden Joseph Releases New Single ‘Backwoods Bougie’

Summer has officially arrived and rising country-pop star Hayden Joseph has the perfect track to blast at full volume in the sun-drenched heat with his latest offering ‘Backwoods bougie’ delivering all the feel-good, carefree summer vibes in abundance – this is one to listen to poolside in the warm haze.

It’s a song that encourages listeners to leave their worries behind, put the past 18 months on the back-burner and get back in touch with those friends you may not have seen in a while, bust out the deck chairs, cold drinks, and reconnect with each other whilst basking in those warm summer rays.

But despite its carefree attitude, and stylistic, ‘Backwoods Bougie’ is not your typical summer hit, it has been crafted from a place of frustration, with Hayden Joseph being fed-up with the Bro-Country standard so he has leaned into the stereotypes with deliberately sassy lyrics discussing the “bougie” brands of middle-class America.

The anthemic track has been co-written with a team of LGBTQ+ writers and is one that will no doubt connect with listeners around the world whilst also showing that there is a place for LGBTQ+ songwriters and artists within country music, it’s shifting and more, and more people are waking up to the fact that times are changing. Hate will not win, and love will always conquer so this feels like a perfect step in the right direction to true equality.

This latest offering follows on from his recently released debut album ‘Different’ and uplifting single ‘Out’. Hayden is one of the few gay singers within country music who is out-and-proud and is showing that there is a safe space within music, he is a shining example that hope and love wins through every time.
