Hayden Joseph Releases New Single ‘Out’
With it being Pride month it feels like the perfect time for artists to share their stories via their songs if they feel ready and willing to do so, and one of those artists who is ready to share a story of self-acceptance is rising country performer Hayden Joseph who has dropped ‘Out’.
The anthemic, up-tempo track from Hayden sees him delivering an inspirational lyrical story that is laced with uplifting words of encouragement about speaking up and being proud of who you are. It’s all about feeling pride, and being open and honest about the fabric of what makes you, you.
Hayden Joseph is one of the most incredible artists to be rising up the country music ranks right now and the fact he is not only breaking barriers with his sound but also just by being himself is something truly amazing and something that deserves to be truly celebrated.
Speaking about the track, Hayden says: “Every artist needs an ‘I am’ song, and this is mine. At its core, it’s a track about celebrating who you are. For me, it narrates coming out and fully accepting myself, but the meaning will change depending on the listener. I’ve sat on the song for 3 years because I didn’t want to ruffle country music feathers, but I have decided this Pride month is the time.”
It’s interesting to hear the singer/songwriter talking about being worried about ruffling the feathers of those in the country music world, in a time when we’re calling for labeling to be dropped it feels strange that even just 3 years ago the narrative was so different. Clearly, there is still much to be done in country music, and the industry as a whole for those of all genders, sexualities, etc to be truly accepted and supported but it feels like the tide is changing and it’s thanks to artists like Hayden Joseph for creating change within.
