Help Musicians ‘Stand By Me’ Charity Single Available For Pre-Order
With a vast majority of artists struggling to earn a living in the UK at the moment due to the ongoing health crisis caused by the global Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Radio 2 broadcaster Bob Harris has decided to step in and try to raise some capital for those struggling the most.
The country music ambassador has launched the charity single ‘Stand By Me’ which will feature an array of talent from country, and rock with acts such as Twinnie, Ward Thomas, Jimmie Allen, Sam Palladio, The Shires, Laura Oakes, and many, many more lending their voices to the project which will be released at the end of October with all funds going to Help Musicians.
Speaking about the single launch which is being released in partnership with Harris’ Under The Apple Tree project, Bob Harris said: “All of us at Under The Apple Tree Sessions are honoured and thrilled that so many of our friends and favourite artists are joining us on this very special fundraising version of ‘Stand By Me’, my all-time favourite song, to benefit Help Musicians here in the UK”.
The track is currently being recorded and mastered remotely by artists and producers across the world with them coming together to reimagine the Ben E. King original which was released 60 years ago this October. This new cover rendition will be dropping on the same day as the original release in order to celebrate the remarkable song.
Since the launch of the fundraising campaign via GoFundMe back last week, the ‘Stand By Me’ charity single has raised over £3,00 for Help Musicians with a set target of £10,000 being the goal of the fundraiser, and with the single now officially available to pre-order it won’t be too long until that target is smashed.
