Lauren Alaina Releases New EP ‘Getting Over Him’

Country music is synonymous with the truth and with her latest record ‘Getting Over Him’, American vocal powerhouse Lauren Alaina has laid her personal truth bare with several tracks detailing the end of two relationships that altered the course of her heart, and the path to true love with the EP being penned about all sides of the break-ups.

Alaina is well known for speaking honestly throughout her lyrical stories and with this offering she doesn’t shy away from opening up and letting her listeners inside in order to create a body of work that means something and delivers a brilliant tracklist that features all feelings of what it’s like to break-up and find yourself again.

The project is a major standout and one that allows Lauren Alaina to bring together a fantastic sonic blend of country-pop crossover sounds whilst showcasing her truly outstanding vocal prowess, she undoubtedly has one of the most impressive voices in country music and this EP allows her vocal to take centre stage.

Speaking about the EP, Lauren says: “It was just me remembering to love myself when someone else doesn’t. I went through two very public breakups and that’s not really ideal, so I decided to write about it…I felt like if I’m going to name it, Getting Over Him, I have to put all sides of the breakup in there. It was a hard couple of years and this quarantine has been crazy alone, but I would rather be alone and have this music than be in a bad relationship and not have it.”

The six-track project is a wonderful, standout collection that gives Alaina the opportunity to have full closure whilst giving herself time to come to terms with everything she has been through over the past few years. Music is a healer and this release from the US singer/songwriter is truly beautiful.
