LIVE REVIEW: Carly Pearce @ Nissan Stadium
There is something that hits differently about a stadium show, and last night (Thursday, June 8th) at the Nissan stadium in the heart of downtown Nashville on the opening night of the 50th CMA Festival country music sensation Carly Pearce proved just why she is the leading woman in the genre right now.
Following on from her Grammy award win earlier this year in the Best Country Duo/Group Performance category for her global hit single ‘Never Wanted To Be That Girl’ with Ashley McBryde, Pearce looked right at home on the huge stage belting out some of her biggest hits to date.
From ‘Diamondback’ to ‘Next Girl’, the Kentucky native was on top form in the electric setting in front of the 60,000+ crowd in Music City for the CMA Fest curtain raiser and the huge audience in attendance were captivated by her stunning vocal control and easy-on-stage presence that never got lost in the vast setting.
In addition to her solo set, Carly Pearce also brought back out the opening act of the evening, Jo Dee Messina for a memorable duet that will live long in the memory of the audience members who were in attendance last night – a truly iconic and special moment featuring old and new country music icons.
Pearce was born to be a stadium performer and she proved that last night with a barnstorming set that saw her firmly set her marker as the future queen of country music – the genre needs strong independent female voices like Carly’s and she is paving the way for many more to join her at the forefront of the scene.
