LIVE REVIEW: Carly Pearce @ Shepherd’s Bush Empire
Last night (February 20th, 2025) Carly Pearce brought her sold-out Hummingbird tour to the Shepherd’s Bush Empire for the second night and the crowd were treated to a showcase from one of country music’s modern-day icons. Truly phenomenal from start to finish Pearce delivered a breathtaking set.
The UK fanbase has welcomed Carly Pearce into their fold and she now feels like an adopted Brit such is the outpouring of love from both sides. Carly is clearly humbled and overwhelmed by the love and grace she receives on UK soil and she is truly thankful with her heartfelt thanks, last night she was gracious beyond word and almost moved to tears on several occasions such was the love in that room.
Last night she delivered a set that could stand up against those from the likes of legends such as Shania Twain, and Dolly Parton. Witnessing Carly Pearce on stage is like travelling back to the ’90s of Twain’s heyday, There’s magic whenever she’s in the spotlight and her vocal prowess is awe-inspiring and on stage presence simply sublime.
During the set she rattled through some of her biggest hits including; ‘Every Little Thing’, ‘Next Girl’, ’29’, ‘Never Wanted To Be That Girl’ and ‘Truck On Fire’ while the two-song encore centred on ‘Oklahoma’ and ‘What He Didn’t Do’. Several times throughout the night, Carly was stopped by the loud cheers and huge applause, appreciating her rawness, vulnerability and enchanting vocal. She stood there and took it all in never taking a moment for granted.
A truly beautiful moment in the middle of the set was when she performed the new single ‘No Rain’ for the very first time, offering the London crowd a unique experience of hearing this song before anybody else and the prayer-like country classic did not disappoint. It sums up everything Pearce is feeling right now and offers fans shelter from any storms they may be going through, with a gentle reminder that life is a balance of good and bad times.
Sometimes you need an artist to remind you exactly why you fell in love with country music, and Carly Pearce delivered that in abundance last night. She is simply one of the best performers in any genre right now offering a gentleness and calmness mixed with inspirational and uplifting lyrics that make fans feel seen and less alone.
Overall, Carly showcased that she’s at the top of her game right now and promised to be back very soon, although judging by the thunderous applause and standing ovation she received as the curtain came down on her performance last night that day can’t come quickly enough.
