Megan O’Neill Releases ‘Fairytale Of New York’ Cover

Fresh from sharing her outstanding new single ‘Head Under Water’ back in October, Irish country-influenced singer/songwriter Megan O’Neill returns this December with another stellar offering this time in the form of a classic cover that sees her putting her own unique spin on ‘Fairytale Of New York’.

The festive classic has been a long-time favorite of O’Neill’s and is a song she has been dreaming of covering for years and this year all the stars aligned to allow the multi-talented vocalist to share the brilliant rendition that sees her making the global hit from The Pogues totally her own.

It’s a truly outstanding new version of smash-hit that gives Megan O’Neill the platform to win an army of new listeners as she showcases her breathtaking vocal tone making her rendition of ‘Fairytale Of New York’ a modern-day country-inspired crossover hit that welcomes the holiday season in style.

Speaking about the release, Megan O’Neill says: “Fairytale Of New York is one of my all-time favorite Christmas songs and I’ve always wanted to cover it – although I’ve always been a bit afraid to do so. It’s such an iconic song. But getting together with Mark Caplice and putting our own twist on it was so much fun, and I feel like we came up with something unique and different. I’m really excited that it’s out in the world now”.

It really is a magnificent reimagining of the holiday classic and Megan and Mark have done a wonderful job of keeping hold of the magic that is ingrained in the original whilst driving it into outstanding new sonic avenues allowing it to become a whole new version that fits into country crossover realm.
