Foreign Affairs Announce New Single ‘One Of These Days’
Fresh from releasing their poignant new single ‘The Hope Comes Again’, Bristol-based country music duo Foreign Affairs are back on Thursday, December 3rd (tonight) at 10 pm with their brand new offering ‘One Of These Days’ which looks to build on their huge year of success as they forge ahead with plans for a breakout 2021.
The pair will once again receive major support from broadcasting legend Bob Harris who will be premiering the eagerly awaited new track from the duo later this evening across his BBC Radio 2 country music show from 9 pm GMT ahead of its official release at 10 pm later tonight.
The forthcoming release has been written, recorded, and produced by the brothers Adam and Lawrence Purnell making it a very personal offering and one that showcases their immense sibling vocal harmonies, and stellar songwriting ability. They always write songs that hit hard and the opening line “I’m scared of getting old, and closer to the ground” certainly packs an emotional punch.
Speaking about their newest single, Foreign Affairs’ Adam says: “The instrumental for the song has been in the locker for a long time, initially it was written for the purpose of a musical interlude at live shows but the more we played with it we felt there was a vocal to be explored and I think the lyrical content compliments and lifts the track really well”.
Whilst Lawrence adds: “I never have to search for emotion when singing ‘One Of These Days’, it’s right there from the off, I get lost in it, it feels like a soundtrack“.
Their latest release effortlessly captures the heart and soul of what Foreign Affairs represent as a musical duo and shines alight on the incredible skillset the guys possess whilst the production of an expertly crafted electric guitar overlay adds to the overall cinematic vibe of the track.
